Our CSA Friends – Comeback Creek

March 6, 2011

We got involved with a CSA (community supported agriculture) farm late in the year last year. We pay a set amount each week, head to the farmers market we’ve arranged to meet them at, and they give us a ration of what was harvested that week. Because they’re not a grocery store, some weeks we get more than others.

That’s part of the idea of. You share in the bounty, you share in the lean times as well. Have gotten to know them somewhat and are thoroughly enjoying the set up.

We get veggies each week that we don’t pick out ourselves. That helped me in learning how to cook new dishes with veggies I may not have bought on my own. We’re looking forward to them starting up again (this month I think!), and all the fresh veggies we’ll come across each week.

Below is a link to their website. If you’re so inclined, check them out. They’re great people. Maybe you’ll even run into the vegetarian veteran one day. Hope to see you there!
